Who is Michael James Audain?
Michael Audain is a Canadian home builder and art collector, the Chairman and major shareholder of Polygon Homes Ltd.
In the early 1970s he was a well-known housing policy expert in Canada. He was the Director of Community Relations at the Ontario Housing Corporation in Toronto and the Housing Program Director at the Canadian Council on Social Development in Ottawa.
He was the editor of a quarterly publication titled Housing and People.
In late 1973, Audain was appointed Special Advisor to the Minister of Housing.
From 1977 to 1979, he was a lecturer at the University of British Columbia’s School of Urban and Regional Planning.

He attended the University of Lyon in France, getting a Diploma in French Civilization in 1959. He studied also at the University of British Columbia, where he got a B.A. in 1962, a Bachelor of Social Work in 1963, and a Masters in Social Work in 1965. His studies did not end here, attending the London School of Economics and Political Science. In 1977, he got a Certificate in Farm Management and Rural Appraisal from the University of California, Davis.
